HOW DO BALANCE BIKES HELP WITH KIDS' PSYCHOMOTOR DEVELOPMENT?

Moving, learning and playing are essential parts of a child's development. With their balance bike, kids will learn balance, spatial awareness and coordination skills, while immersing themselves in imaginary worlds.

OUR N°1 CHOICE: EASY LEARNING

Each part has been specifically designed by our B'TWIN team. The low frame makes it easy for kids to get on and off their bike and deal with obstacles (pavements, hills). The footrests encourage them to lift their feet off the ground and experiment with balancing. The position of the footrests prepares them to put their feet in the right place on a real bike. Last but not least, the saddle curves up at the back to help kids sit in a position from which they can propel themselves efficiently.

IS THERE SOMETHING TO STOP THE HANDLEBARS TURNING?

We've chosen to let the handlebar rotate a really long way so that kids can manoeuvre at a much wider range of angles. However, the shape of the frame stops the wheel from coming far enough round for the handlebars to end up back to front. Kids are given free rein to practise their steering while remaining safe.

A FUN DESIGN

Our Runride 100 model has a sleek design. Have you noticed the symbols on the frame? They're sure to catch the eye of budding explorers. We know that, at this age, details really matter!

LIGHT AS A FEATHER

Our Runride 100 balance bike weighs 3.2 kg. It's pared down (there's no brake), making it the featherweight in our range!

10" WHEELS

The wheels are 10", with plastic rims and solid EVA foam hybrid tyres.

WHY IS THE BEARING QUALITY IMPORTANT?

The principle of the balance bike is for kids to propel themselves along and use this motion to learn to balance. The bearing quality is important as it's what allows kids to pick up enough momentum to lift their feet and find their balance. We've chosen the simple option for our entry-range model, with a metal axle inserted directly through the wheel's plastic rim.

ADJUSTMENT RANGE: A DETAIL THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

We've done everything we can to make this balance bike fit your child for as long as possible by giving it a saddle that adjusts in height by 11 cm. Minimum saddle height: 30.2 cm Maximum saddle height: 41.2 cm When kids are just starting out, the saddle should be at crotch height so that they can place their feet flat on the floor. The handlebar can also be adjusted by 8 cm. Min. handlebar height: 43.5 cm Max. handlebar height: 51.5cm
